Prior to serving in the Legislature, Boles served as mayor of Marlow from 2014-2018 and was also on the Marlow Public School Board of Education. He also served as president of the Marlow Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

He served as president of his family's manufacturing business for ten years. Under his leadership, the company grew from 100 employees to 500 employees and was one of the fastest growing privately owned manufacturing businesses in the nation, according to Inc. Magazine.

In 2018, the family manufacturing business sold to a publicly traded company. Today, Boles is an entrepreneur and small business owner in multiple businesses, including a personnel staffing and recruiting company that employs over 100 people, a commercial real estate business, and an automotive Quick Lube and car wash business.

Boles and his wife Michelle are college sweethearts and have been married since 2006. They live in Marlow and are blessed with two children, Kristin (12) and Matthew (10).
