Laura H. Budd is the managing partner of Weaver & Budd Law, PLLC with twenty years of experience in practicing law. She concentrates primarily on business litigation and contract law, which accounts for over 60 percent of her practice. Laura has extensive experience in the areas of appellate law, construction law, negligence, fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and defamation, as well as fiduciary litigation in trusts and estates. She practices both State and Federal Court in North Carolina. Laura also regularly teaches classes in continuing legal education to lawyers and has been a guest lecturer and mock trial judge at Wingate University since 2019.
Laura is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Union County Bar Association.
As part of her desire to invest in and serve her community, Laura serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the President of the Matthews Athletic Recreation Association (MARA), and Vice- President of the Piedmont Gymnastics Association (PGO) for Southeastern Gymnastics and is a member of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce.
Laura received a B.A. in History and Political Science cum laude in 1999 from Ohio University and her J.D. from Wake Forest Law School in 2002. She currently resides in Matthews, North Carolina with her husband, Chuck, three children, Caleb (18), Amelia (16), and Cooper (11), and two dogs, Cole & Beckham.
