Congressman Anthony Brindisi was born and raised in Utica. After his mother passed away at a very young age, his three older sisters helped raise him and instilled in him the values of integrity and caring for others. After graduating high school, Congressman Brindisi attended Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) and went on to study history at Siena College and attend Albany Law School. After graduation, he returned home to Utica where he and his wife, Erica, a biology professor at MVCC, are raising their two children, Anthony Jr. and Lily Grace.

As a former school board member and father, Congressman Brindisi is committed to making sure all children have the tools they need to succeed. He was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2011 where he championed the 21St Century Education Initiative to create a Career and Technical Education (CTE) diploma pathway for high school students. He also fought to revitalize the economy of the Mohawk Valley by securing funding to help attract new business while at the same time strengthening existing businesses.

Known for his independent, bipartisan leadership, Congressman Brindisi was elected to Congress in 2018. He represent New Yorks 22nd congressional district which includes all of Chenango, Cortland, Madison, and Oneida counties, and parts of Broome, Herkimer, Oswego, and Tioga counties.
