Biography:
Rep. Gerrid Kendrix was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2020.
A third generation resident of Altus, he graduated from Altus High School in 1985. Kendrix earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Cameron University in 1991 and returned to Altus to begin his accounting career. After earning his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Kendrix has served the Altus community for over 30 years and continues to operate that on a "part-time" basis.
He received the State Chamber of Oklahoma's Rising Star Award in 2021 and was selected by Governor Stitt and Speaker McCall to serve on the Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development. He was also appointed to the House Special Investigative Committee in 2022.
Kendrix and his high school sweetheart, Cynthia, married in 1987 and have three grown children and six grandchildren.
He serves as a deacon in his church, where he has assisted on the finance committee, mentored teens, lead ministries for elderly and widows and facilitated Bible study groups. Kendrix also previously served on the Board of Trustees of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
