Rep. Charlie Miller is a Southport native who served for more than 33 years in law enforcement, retiring as Chief Deputy for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office. He also served for 14 years on the Brunswick County Board of Education.
In 2020, Miller was elected to the North Carolina General Assembly for House District 19, which served Brunswick and New Hanover counties.
As a Freshman Legislator, Miller was appointed to several committees, working groups, and he founded the Law Enforcement Caucus with over 40 members from both chambers.
Miller is a strong advocate for public safety, quality education, infrastructure enhancements, veteran assistance, and economic development.
