Husband, Father, Small Business Owner, Community Leader, Rotarian, Education Advocate, saved by Grace.
My wife Shannon and I have called Union County home for nearly 20 years. We chose to move here for the same reason so many others have, a great quality of life, lower taxes, less density, great schools, and wonderful people! We wanted to live somewhere we could plant some roots and create a future for our family.
During that time we have seen tremendous growth in our community and in our family. As parents of 3 beautiful children, boys ages 11 and 12 and a girl, 3, we understand clearly the needs of our schools, our roads, and our community overall. I want to see Union County continue to thrive and be the best place in North Carolina to live and raise a family!
I grew up in North Carolina and have had the opportunity to live in large cities and small towns across this great state. Upon graduation from Appalachian State, I spent more than 15 years in the corporate world from manufacturing to banking and finance. The knowledge and skills that I gained from that experience has allowed me to build a successful small business serving many families in our community over the past 8 years.
I am a strong believer in the importance of a good education. I am deeply involved at every level of education across our state. I own and operate a local preschool, I serve on NC State Board of Community Colleges, was a PTO Board member at Marvin Elementary the past two years, and have been heavily involved as a parent of two students in the UCPS Dual Language program over the past 7 years.
